In the past 7 years they have been driven by GREED! And Greed knows not an age or generation, not a race nor a religion, Buick or Prius! What currently drives the market today is FEAR! I’ll let FDR remind us of what Fear can do to a country. Nice thing about this is we all know the outcome of his speech!!
“I am certain that my fellow Americans expect that on my induction into the Presidency I will address them with a candor and a decision which the present situation of our people impel. This is preeminently the time to speak the truth, the whole truth, frankly and boldly. Nor need we shrink from honestly facing conditions in our country today. This great Nation will endure as it has endured, will revive and will prosper. So, first of all, let me assert my firm belief that the only thing we have to fear is fear itself—nameless, unreasoning, unjustified terror which paralyzes needed efforts to convert retreat into advance. In every dark hour of our national life a leadership of frankness and vigor has met with that understanding and support of the people themselves which is essential to victory. I am convinced that you will again give that support to leadership in these critical days.”

Joe The Sports Guy provides us with this weekly look at High School, College and Pro Football: Here are top three “wipe-outs!”
Congrats to former Montgomery star Marcus Ezeff for making the play of the season for the Cal Bears in their 31-24 win over NO. 11 Oregon. Ezeff knocked the ball loose from receiver Cameron Colvin inches from a tieing touchdown for Oregon with :16 left. With all the upsets yesterday California looks like they will be the No. 3 Ranked team in the country when the polls come out tomorrow. Congrats to Marcus. BTW…Saturday November 10th…No. 1 USC at California.
Now for the weekly massacre feature:

Your a seller and are getting offers but are holding out for more? You’ve got a common malady amongst many sellers today: Chasing the market syndrome! Of course your house is nicer than your neighbors and sure there are other sales in the area which are driving down your homes price and maybe you can get the sun to not rise tomorrow and autumn to not come this year!! While you are fighting the inevitable this market is slipping away from you. In a month’s time when the buyers have dwindled down and you still need to sell you’ll be dropping your price to catch up to the market which has left you behind. Read the rest of this entry »

First time homebuyer wants to know if holding for 4-5 years is a good idea?
You pose many questions. If you are indeed a short-timer for a real estate purchase you must address a number of issues. What is the performance of the market in the area you reside? Has it been flat for the past few years? Going up at 5, 10, and 15% per year? Going down?? Read the rest of this entry »

WEEK 4…
Well things got to normal in Week 3 for my football life at least for the last couple of years. I was 9-7 in picks …and the Niners lost. Lets see how we can do to change both of those things.
WEEK 3: 9- 7 56.3%
SEASON: 35-13 72.9%
Note: One up on the best Yahoo expert who is still Mike Silver at 34-14…
SEATTLE(2-1) AT SAN FRANCISCO(2-1)…Top of the NFC West at stake and a big game with tiebreaker issues when we start(hopefully) worrying about that in late November. 49ers are not the same team on the road as they are at home. If they are the team I think they are they will win.

One of the Fed’s biggest concerns is inflation. Today we have word that the Core Personal Consumption Expenditure (PCE)* index came in at .01% for August and the year over year Core rate (this is closely watched by the Fed to see where inflation is heading) came in at 1.8% which is within the Fed’s comfort range of 1% and 2%. Good news as bonds, which help to determine mortgage interest rates, don’t like inflation. We will continue to watch the value of the dollar though, as it is loosing ground and a lower dollar means higher prices for imports, which can lead to inflation. Interest Rates follow: Read the rest of this entry »

Listeners. Find attached information on the rate of increase of Notices of Default for all the Counties of California. 2nd quarter last year of 2006 in Sonoma our NOD’s where 202, and the 2nd quarter of 2007 they are now at 462 which is a 128.7% increase which when standing alone seems rather impressive. Remember, we have 460,000 residents in the County and many, thousands of households. Also, remember a very small fraction actually go through the entire process to sale at the courtsteps. Just trying to give you folks some perspective.

Posting to Trulia.com is not the end all of marketing campaigns. However, Trulia is one of the largest aggregators of home listings on the web. We had Sami, co founder of Trulia, speak at one of our company functions and he himself gave over 50 sites where you can post properties and market your company/agent services. Even Sami realizes the overwhelming number of sites is somewhat daunting to a company looking to give the consumer the ultimate amount of exposure to their homes. Coldwell Banker is one of the premiere companies in the nation and I’m sure their web site alone generates much activity. Keep this in mind–all real estate is local. Of course some properties are world-class with buyers coming from a world wide community due to uniqueness and price. However, for the vast amount of us selling our homes, the buyer who is coming to the area may find your home via the web but will most likely start working with a local Realtor/Agent. That buyer may bring up your property to their agent or the agent may find it via the local MLS. Much “lateral” marketing goes on with the Internet. The stats are very hard to ignore–2-4% of ALL buyers ever buy a property they initially call on via the newspaper, web or other media. But I would target Trulia.com as one of THE premier sites also to market my properties.
