WEEK 2: SONOMA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL RATINGS
September 17th, 2007 . by JoetheSportsGuySONOMA COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL RANKING AFTER WEEK 2
This is a tough one after seeing No. 1 Cardinal Newman get handled easily by Del Oro. You get the idea though that Del Oro would do that to every Sonoma County Team so how much do you penalize Cardinal Newman for playing the toughest preleague schedule in the area. Well just a little and I don’t like the tie thing but… No. 1T-Cardinal Newman (0-1-1)…Offense did more then a capable job vs. Del Oro, the defense was overmatched. Amazing the different kind of game then last years match up. No. 1T-Casa Grande (2-0)….Not even close to Cardinal Newman’s schedule but they have given up as many points in their first two games as how many losses they have. No. 3-Santa Rosa (2-0)…Impressive win over Windsor. What got lost in the score was how their defense dominated things the last two and a half quarters of the game. Oh and yes…their offense is averaging 44 points a game. No. 4-Healdsburg (2-0)…Their defense came up big against Piner and waited for their offense to get on track with a big Fourth Quarter No. 5-Petaluma (2-0)…The Trojans have outscored opponents 29-2 in the fourth quarter in their first two games to pull out two close wins.
