NFL RECAP WEEK 2

NINERS 2-0 FOR FIRST TIME SINCE 98…You’d think the Niner world would be happy, but watching this offense is like going to the dentist. Sounds like its something to get used to. A fan base who enjoyed the West Coast Offense to a coaching staff that was brought up in the world of the Baltimore Ravens. Difference of night and day. The complaints about Alex Smith is way over the line. The only time they asked him to control the game was at the end of the Arizona game and he passed with flying colors. Makes one wonder why they would waste a No. 1 pick on a quarterback they don’t plan to have much of an impact on the game plan anyway. Remember the Ravens won a Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer (and no I’m not calling for him to replace Smith–NO WAY). The bright side is the defense who dominated in Week 1 and played the bend but don’t break variety in Week 2 and were very good in both styles. And if any team has had better Special Teams play the first two weeks I haven’t noticed. Next up is a trip to Pittsburgh a team that has given up 10 points in the first two weeks.
Not a great sign with how the Niners offense has been performing.

FEELING RAIDER FANS PAIN…You won’t see that headline to often here, but the way they lost that game. The Raider pattern the first two weeks, fall way behind, make a gutsy comeback, put the game in the defenses hands to win and then let it slip away. This week to add to it they hit a field goal to win the game that doesn’t count, and then miss the same field goal that did count. Just win baby isn’t.

AROUND THE LEAGUE…New England is the only team in the AFC East to win a game. I wonder if you can just put a X- by their name for cinching their division….The Cowboys have given up an average of 27 points a game and won both games easily. The two teams they have played have scored 26 points total in their other two games. That’s not saying much about their defense. They are at Chicago this week another high powered offense to test them….Denver (2-0) has won their games by a combined four points while out gaining their opponents each game by over 200 yards…Who would of thought…Week 3 Colts at Texans with first place at stake in the AFC South…Ten teams have won their first two games, and ten teams have lost their first two games….

TEAMS STOCK RISING: Pittsburgh: has outscored their opponents 60-10(good luck Niners)….Houston: Not much talk about blowing the Reggie Bush pick at the moment….Green Bay: Bret Favre not looking to old…Tennessee: Even after a close loss to Colts still looking good.

TEAMS STOCK DROPPING: New Orleans: Last years feeling good story looking like the Saints we all remember….Philadelphia: Where is Jeff Garcia when you need him? New York Teams: Both playoff teams last season, both stinking so far this season…
