HIGH SCHOOL RANKINGS AFTER WEEK 3

September 24th, 2007 . by JoetheSportsGuy

Preleague is over and now onto league play. If the league races have any of the craziness of the preleague this should be one heck of a season.

1. CARDINAL NEWMAN (1-1-1)…Survived their preleague schedule as the top choice for the Division III state championship game. Averaged 41 point a game, gave up an average of 34. Lot of sore neck at Newman watching their games going up and down the field. There biggest question: Defense a concern or was it just because of the schedule? NEXT UP: Friday Night hosting Rancho Cotate
2. CASA GRANDE (2-0-1)….Casa let a good win get away in the 4th quarter against Montgomery. What felt like a bad tie will likely be a good tie when the seedings for the playoffs are debated. If their offense can help…this team will be hard to beat. NEXT UP: The Egg Bowl, hosting Petaluma Saturday Afternoon
3. SANTA ROSA (3-0-0)…..Their offense has gotten the pub with Thurman McGowan leading the show. What has gotten lost is their defense has been very solid in their first three wins. NEXT UP: The long trip to Ukiah
4. RANCHO COTATE (2-1)…Rancho jumps back into the ratings with the big second half against Petaluma. Find out right off the bat if they stay there. NEXT UP: Friday Night at Cardinal Newman
5. SONOMA (2-0-1)….Their win over Montgomery gets them this spot over Healdsburg and Montgomery. At lookie here…NEXT UP: Hosting Healdsburg.
