What should be in a blog? I answer a Trulia Voices Question and preview my own Blog
September 29th, 2007 . by Mike KellyA blog, or web log, is very similar to what we have here at TruliaVoices–but in reverse! On my blog I’m posting data on my weekly radio show. I feature an interest rate update posted at the close of business on the Friday before my Sunday show.
I post local MLS statistics of a general nature within the county I work of Sonoma. During Football season I have a sports guy post weekly picks and talk for our High School teams plus our “wipe-out” of the week in College Football (record score was 82-0!! I won’t name the offending college!), I’ll post general plan updates, and point of sale issues, anything I feel would be of interest to my listeners and clients. They can THEN respond to my data with a question or post a comment regarding this week’s show. I also usually post my answers HERE to my blog as we seem to cover a wide array of issues relevant to consumers across the nation and in my own backyard. I’m exploring “podcasts” of the show and am actually taping a video which we will link to the blog this weekend. I’m calling it the “Real Estate Essentials” series: escrow/title, Exchanging, how to take title, Home Inspectors, Pest control reports. We’ll have a nice library of videos also. But don’t forget the fun stuff too! Community happenings, those wild home inspection photos now making the internet rounds!! All that stuff and more. And the last thing will be a video flash (no raincoats here!!) on my blog which will show me giving a quick tutorial on how to go about looking at my site!! Lastly, my new community blog will be debuting in about a month and will feature many non-profits, businesses, chamber of commerce, any organization on ONE master blog. Very KEWL!! Film at Eleven!!
