NFL PICKS WEEK 8…THE WEEK BEFORE THE SUPER BOWL PREVIEW..OR THEY SAY
October 26th, 2007 . by JoetheSportsGuyWith all the commentators getting wrapped up in NEXT WEEKS Patriot-Colts game you get the feeling they just want to skip this week.
A couple of notes about that game:
The Texan-Raider game has to be blacked out so we get the Patriots-Colt game. Which one would you like to see?
The other in what has to be put in the Timing Is Everything Award..and really pretty remarkable.
Both Payton Manning and Tom Brady has beaten a record 30 of 32 NFL Teams. Thats the most teams any quarterback has beaten. Obviously Manning has never beaten the Colts and Brady hasn’t beating the Patriots.
The other team Manning hasn’t beaten is Carolina and the other team Brady hasn’t beaten is Washington.
Check out the schedule this week.
LAST WEEK: 10- 4 71.4%
SEASON: 67-36 65.0%
BEST YAHOO PICKER OF THEIR FIVE PICKERS: 67-36 so a dead heat. Isn’t this exciting?
NYGIANTS(5-2) AT MIAMI (0-7) (IN LONDON)….Sending the Dolphins to England to show off the NFL will set back USA-England relations 200 years.
DETROIT(4-2) AT CHICAGO (3-4)…Lions beat Bears in Week #3 37-27. Since their opening week win in Oakland the Lions has been terrible on the road, losing their other two games by an average of 33 a game. Bears have been shaky at home themselves, but someone has to win. Why not the Bears.
OAKLAND(2-4) AT TENNESSEE(4-2)…The Raiders missed a chance to be a real factor in the AFC West. Vince Young due back for the Titans. Bad break for Raiders.
CLEVELAND(3-3) AT ST LOUIS(0-7)…The Rams are the most disappointing team in the NFL…and their isn’t a close second. The disappointment continues.
PHILADELPHIA(2-4) AT MINNESOTA(2-4)…The Eagles can thank the Rams or they would have that most disappointing team label. The disappointment continues.
PITTSBURGH(4-2) AT CINCINNATI(2-4)…The Bengals have been bad on the road. But this one is at home.
INDIANAPOLIS(6-0) AT CAROLINA(4-2)…Carolina is winless at home and undefeated on the road. This is at home.
HOUSTON(3-4) AT SAN DIEGO(3-3)…This is a tough pick with all that is going on in Southern California. As I pick this not even sure where the game is going to be played…Lets go with San Diego and some good vibes on what is happening down there.
NEW ORLEANS(2-4) AT SAN FRANCISCO(2-4)…Alex Smith is back!!! GO NINERS….
BUFFALO(2-4) AT NY JETS(1-6)….Congrats to Buffalo to become the first AFC East team to win a game outside their division (excluding New England of course)…They celebrate with another win.
JACKSONVILLE (4-2)AT TAMPA BAY(4-3)…Jacksonville will be in a gnarly mood after being embarrassed by the Colts last Monday Night and takes it out on the Bucs.
WASHINGTON(4-2) AT NEW ENGLAND(7-0)…After this win the hype will really begin
GREEN BAY(5-1) AT DENVER (3-3)(MONDAY NIGHT)…A week without the Packers is like the spring without the fall. Yeah corny…but my way of taking the Packers.
