NFL PICKS WEEK 12…
November 20th, 2007 . by JoetheSportsGuyand a Happy Thanksgiving
The NFL has some mixed bags on the five Nationally televised games for the weekend. One game they got alot more then they expected…the rest of them…well like Yawning after the big Turkey is in the stomach.
As for me a so so week…and fall behind the Yahoo Experts best for the first time this season..
LAST WEEK: 9- 7 56.3%
SEASON: 101-59 63.1%
Two of the Yahoo experts have a two game lead…and the worse week their experts had was 11-5…boy did I screw up or what.
THANKSGIVING DAY TRIPLEHEADER:
GREEN BAY (9-1) AT DETROIT (6-4)…This is the game that the NFL lucked out on. There is no way they saw this matchup coming, although it looked alot bigger two weeks ago before the Lions dropped two in a row. This is do or die for the Lions and they usually play very well on Thanksgiving Day whether they are good or not(when was the last time they were good?). So even though my heart is with the Packers…my brain is with the Lions.
NY JETS (2-8) AT DALLAS (9-1) ...This is one the NFL thought would be good with two playoff teams from last season. Just guessing the Jets won’t make the playoffs…and won’t win this game either.
INDIANAPOLIS (8-2) AT ATLANTA (3-7)…As a public service will remind you that ESPN has USC-Arizona State at the same time.
SUNDAY MENU
SEATTLE (6-4) AT ST. LOUIS (2-8)…The Rams have won two straight although the league is considering not counting wins over the Niners.
Going to stick my neck out like the some turkeys have been doing lately and take the upset.
MINNESOTA (4-6) AT NY GIANTS (7-3)..The Giants are looking are in solid shape for a wild card spot. This game won’t hurt that cause.
BUFFALO (5-5) AT JACKSONVILLE (7-3)…The thank you letter is in the mail from the Bills to the NFL for putting their New England game on National TV last Sunday Night. Jacksonville keeps the pressure on the Colts in the AFC South Race.
NEW ORLEANS (4-6) AT CAROLINA (4-6)…Believe it or not this is a battle for 2nd place in the NFC South. The Saints have lost two straight, including the Rams first win…Carolina has lost 4 straight. Surprised this isn’t on national TV. Will take the Saints just because they haven’t hurt me enough already this season.
WASHINGTON (5-5) AT TAMPA BAY (6-4)…The Bucs are the leader in the NFC South. Redskins running out of time for a wild card spot. This game won’t help their cause.
HOUSTON (5-5) AT CLEVELAND (6-4)…There isn’t a more exciting team to watch in the NFL then the Browns. Six of their ten games have been decided by 7 points or less and who else can double bonk a field goal and have it work out. Don’t look now but they are only one game behind the Steelers. They will keep the pressure on.
TENNESSEE (6-4) AT CINCINNATI (3-7)…Tennessee is seeing things slip away. Cincinnati slipped away weeks ago. Good timing for the Titans to have this game.
OAKLAND (2-8) AT KANSAS CITY (4-6)…Another wonderful Sunday of NFL football on the tube. Raiders have lost six straight…the Chiefs three straight. The Chiefs are welcoming the Raiders to town with open arms.
SAN FRANCISCO (2-8) AT ARIZONA (5-5)…Way back in Week 1 when they met in the second Monday Night Game of the first week I wrote: “A four game losing streak to the Cardinals. If that’s not the most embarrassing thing in sports, it rates a close second.” I guess I didn’t know embarassing. Thats the only game the Niners scored 20 points this season and they were lucky to win. I’m sure Arizona remembers that to.
BALTIMORE (4-6) AT SAN DIEGO (5-5)…This is so tempting….but the Chargers should beat Baltimore…shouldn’t they?
DENVER (5-5) AT CHICAGO (4-6)…So the Broncos are tied for first in the AFC West. They will also be back under .500 after this game.
PHILADELPHIA (5-5) AT NEW ENGLAND (10-0)…SUNDAY NIGHT…Okay we know they are good…maybe very good…maybe great….but do we have to see their weekly massacre in prime time?
MIAMI (0-10) AT PITTSBURGH (7-3)…MONDAY NIGHT…Wrapping up a great weekend of NFL football with a thriller.
