NFL PICKS WEEK 17…WRAPPING UP THE REGULAR SEASON…AND AS A NINER FAN..THANK GOODNESS
December 29th, 2007 . by JoetheSportsGuyHAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL…
Wrapping up the 2007 NFL Regular Season.
LAST WEEK: 10- 6 62.5% (Second Week in a row going 10-6)
SEASON: 150- 90 62.5% (Pretty consistent hey)
Have fallen six games back of the top Yahoo Experts…(Will get them in the playoffs…)
NEW ENGLAND (15-0) AT NY GIANTS (10-5)..SATURDAY NIGHT…Hats off to the NFL for putting this game on regular TV, although it might of been an overkill. And yes we go into the playoffs with an undefeated team…AND If I was coach
of either team I would be playing full throttle. In this case History means more then Playoffs…at least for this week.
SUNDAYS LAST FULL MEAL:
SEATTLE (10-5) AT ATLANTA (3-12)…Seattle ends the season with a better then they are looking 11-5 record. Atlanta ends one of the worse season’s in NFL history.
DETROIT (7-8) AT GREEN BAY (12-3)…The Lions at one time were a contender with the Packers for the division title. Now they will settle for a .500 finish vs. a disinterested Packer team.
CINCINNATI (6-9) AT MIAMI (1-14)…You can feel the difference already with the arrival of Bill Parcells in Miami as they win their second game. Okay its only Cincinnati..but sounds good doesn’t it?
NEW ORLEANS (7-8) AT CHICAGO (6-9)…Almost unbelievable that the Saints still have a shot at the playoffs. They could get the help they need but The Bears put them out of their misery.
JACKSONVILLE (11-4) AT HOUSTON (7-8)…Jacksonville made their point vs. the Raiders last week and just want to stay healthy. Houston wants to finish .500 and will.
BUFFALO (7-8) AT PHILADELPHIA (7-8)…Both teams playing out the string and have a shot at a .500 finish. Buffalo’s .500 sounds more rewarding then the disappointment in Philly.
CAROLINA (6-9) AT TAMPA BAY (9-6)…Disappointment vs. Surprise matchup. Disappointment takes it because the Surprise is thinking about Week 18.
SAN FRANCISCO (5-10) AT CLEVELAND (9-6)…Only in the world of NFL tiebreakers can you go into your last game tied for a playoff spot and it doesn’t matter what you do. Cleveland will win but who cares.
DALLAS (13-2) AT WASHINGTON (8-7)…One of those I’m in the playoffs vs. Need to win to get in the playoff matchups(in this case probably need the win). Redskins make the playoffs.
PITTSBURGH (10-5) AT BALTIMORE (4-11)…Steelers have hit a flattire, but still playing next week. Need more then a flattire to lose to Baltimore.
SAN DIEGO (10-5) AT OAKLAND (4-11)…BREAKING NEWS: RAIDERS SELL OUT AGAIN. Chargers main goal is to not get hurt and get LT the rushing title. Raiders take this meaningless win.
MINNESOTA (8-7) AT DENVER (6-9)…The Vikings need help from the Cowboys in a game going on at the same time as this one. Have a feeling it won’t matter if the Broncos haven’t started an early vacation…They eliminate Minnesota no matter what happens in Washington.
ST LOUIS (3-12) AT ARIZONA (7-8)…Arizona is trying to finish .500 for the first time since 1998. That motivation should be enough against the Rams.
TENNESSEE (9-6) AT INDIANAPOLIS (13-2)…(SUNDAY NIGHT)…Another one of those Need the win vs. already in the playoffs. In this case Tennessee needs the win no matter whatelse happens…and they will get it.
