SUPER BOWL PICK…KNOW YOU’VE BEEN WAITING FOR IT…
January 31st, 2008 . by JoetheSportsGuyAfter picks in the playoffs that have been terrible at best…who else can you take in this game:
SUPER BOWL XLII…
NFC CHAMPION NEW YORK GIANTS (13-6) VS. AFC CHAMPION NEW ENGLAND (18-0)…First of all anyone that tries to convince you they think the Giants are going to win is trying to hype a game that doesn’t need it. It will probably be the highest rated game in Super Bowl history and my biggest hope about the game is the game is the headline after the game is over and not some non football related issue like in Super Bowls past.
Some of the reason someone is going to try to convince you that the Giants will win is:
A. Manning isn’t losing games anymore. Who would you rather have as your quarterback…Manning or Brady? Limp or no limp.
BTW Manning’s last loss was to New England. Plus Brady hasn’t loss in over a year…and hasn’t lost a Super Bowl period.
B. Giants defense is better then New England’s. Probably true but unless they change the rules by Sunday those two units will not be on the field at the same time. Also New England has to stop or control the Giants offense. They will be resting when New England’s offense is on the field.
C. New England’s close calls. This may have some merit, but they have been close calls, not losses. Yes they could of, would of and maybe should of lost at least one game, including the AFC Championship Game Vs. San Diego. But they didn’t.
This is not saying its impossible for New England to lose…it just seems that way because they haven’t.
Now that I jinxed the heck out of them…
NEW ENGLAND 31 NY GIANTS 20
