Hello from Atlanta,Georiga andthe World Congress Center!! I’m here for the next 5 days exploring all that is new in the world of real estate Techonology and real estate trends. Some one asked me recently about the phrase, “Priced to Sell” and how it irritated him. I responded to him in an email: “Why do you think real estate as an industry is not susceptible to advertising hyperbole? I’m sorry it annoys you but geez; if you post this much over such a hackneyed phrase then I don’t know how you get through an hour of television or radio. Are you totally media deprived?
I’m surprised you’ve just lighted on this phrase. I see many more which are MUCH more irritating. The classic to me is TLC. Read the rest of this entry »

But I just couldn’t sleep
I tried counting backwards,
I tried counting sheep. Read the rest of this entry »

Post this down at “snout” level on your kitchen door!
Dear Dogs and Cats,
The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food. Please note, placing a paw print in the middle of my plate of food does not stake a claim for it becoming your food and dish, nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest. When I grew up in Guerneville, the greatest state of California, the volunteer fire department NEEDED the siren to alert all of our scattered volunteers and to tell them if it was either a FIRE or a DROWNING. One long burst–FIRE!! Two Long Bursts–DROWNING! The fire was usually the most urgent while the drowning pretty much was a “recovery” situation. However, the boys of the company thought it great fun racing each other to the firehouse which was a couple of blocks away from the town’s main intersection. Read the rest of this entry »

NFL PREVIEW:
FIRST THE NINERS: The Niners have become the fashionable pick to take the NFC West. Is it because everyone thinks they are so improved, or is it because the NFC West doesn’t have that much to offer as far as a clear cut choice. I would pick the latter. 9-7 might win the NFC West. No team in the division is dominate, and no team (outside Arizona when they are not playing the Niners) is terrible.
So where does the leave the Niners. Contender for a playoff berth, but again anyone in the NFC West could be.

THE FOOTBALL SEASON BEGINS
Some call this the best time of the year, others not so best, depending on your perspective on things. So with weather feeling more like summer and the dog-days of baseball season, we begin anew the football season. But if you’re me, it’s not really football season until Green Bay plays on a truly frozen tundra and the Chicago Bears slip and slide in a blizzard. But for now—let the games begin!
As the season goes on we will have some tidbits…like… Read the rest of this entry »

My mother grew up on Lombard Street in San Francisco. 2nd generation Sicilian in NorthBeach. She actually “skated” down Lombard street much to my grandfather’s dismay! She played baseball with the DiMaggio brothers. Joe, Dom and he other guy. She learned to save money at an early age as the founder of The Bank of Italy-later Bank of America- would come into her classroom and take the students pennies and nickels and enter them into each of the students savings books!
