I thought Eric Hoffman of Cal-Fire (707-576-2285)was a great interview on Sunday’s show. He thoroughly covered the hazards we all face by living in a primarily “Rural” county like Sonoma. I visited the www.firesafesonoma.org site and it has a terrific pamphlet on fire control which you can download in pdf format. I reccomend it highly! I’m printing out copies and mailing to many clients who have purchased country property. Another web site is: www.fire.ca.gov which will give you more information for making your property “fire-safe”. The realities of a firefight dictate cruel rules. if your property has not been cleared and provides many “ladders” to fuel, the fire boys will make a hard decision to let your home go and save the others. So be fire safe and check these sites out. Here’s some quick information from their site: Read the rest of this entry »

Friends, Here’s a reponse I made to a recent inquiry from a listener who is facing a possible ”Short” sale of his home. This means having way to much loan left at the end of the escrow! My thoughts below are based on the following example: Sales price $595,000, Loan amounts: $580,000 1st, $110,000 2nd–total loans: $690,000! That’s called being “upside-down” in our industry. I didn’t throw in the “pre-payment” penalty. Here are my thoughts which apply to any short sale. I’ve left out specifics for privacy issues: Read the rest of this entry »

Harry Coffee. Investor’s Trust Mortgage, is with us today on the show to explain the new “Home Loan Accelerator” program he is offering. This is a unique program which uses the weight of your entire checking account to knock down the principal amount on a monthly basis thus effecting the amount of interest you’re paying day to day on your loan. The link above gives you a great understanding of this new loan product and Harry can help you realize the implementation of this unique loan pay-off method into your financial picture. Friends and Listeners,
Don’t forget our call-in number: 707-636-1350. No question is out of bounds for us–as long as it’s real estate related!! No advice for the lovelorn (unless you’re real cute!) Are you enjoying this beautiful “destination county” weather of ours? Sonoma County is known as a “destination” all over the world. When I was taking the Certified International Property Specialist designation classes in Paris, France last summer I’d mention Sonoma County and the French would nodd their collective heads approvingly. Now granted, it was a bit chilly out there the past couple of weeks (I had a heater running in my pump house to protect my delicate pipes!) we’ve had two glorious days of “go-by-a-home” weather!
